I believe with a larger platform to share our stories, we will see change. As we have not been recognized as an official student organization, we have been fundraising on our own. But most of us live with disabilities and despite the perseverance of our board, we can only do so much. We need help. We need allies to fight with us and for us. We need the funding to put on campus wide events, to afford speakers, and continue our publications. We dream big—of a Wellesley with a dedicated advisory committee, of a Wellesley with special housing for students with disabilities. I simply cannot live with the idea that the young freshmen coming after me will suffer silently. While no amount of budget can buy understanding and compassion, with your help, we can move forward.
